GOOD DAY ALL MY BEAUTIFUL READERS

So as some of you may have seen I attended a wedding of one of my very close friends just at the beginning of May the beginning of the cold season and the first thing I thought was OH SHOOT I have to dress warm. And I need to be stylish, and I need to dress my new body AND AND AND!!!!

But before you do anything, This is step number one.

The worst thing is knowing exactly what you want to look like or want to wear and when you get to the store or get your package and it looks hideous on you (in my opinion). It really makes me not want ti dress up because then I might as well keep to my sneaker and jeans tradition and not break away from it cause there I feel most comfortable.

But this step helped me understand my body so much more, and there for how much better I can dress my body shape up.

So I am short, with broad shoulders and a bit of a tummy and yes cause of all my chocolates a double chin and big cheeks, not to forget my thicker thighs and long arms.

Number 1

Dressing short legs always go with a pants or skirt that will elongate your legs, something high waisted and if you find one with a pattern even better. They add length and there for your formal or semi formal outfit will be a hit and you will look taller.

Number 2

For broad shoulders I decided a polo-neck will work best, it will make our face look smaller, bring your shoulders together and therefore not make them look so broad and bam! You SLAY. For a few other options try getting halter tops, tips with thin straps and form fitting. Slouchy tops can make your shoulders wider.

Number 3

For your tummy, guys i really do love shaper underwear but wow I also love to breathe hey, and this was just messing my life up haha, so I thought wait BODY SUITS do all the things, they really make pull your outfit together literally, it makes your tummy look flat and it helps hide away any back rolls while making you look slim and its 10x more comfy than these shaper shorts.

Try also wearing tops that elongate your neck and BIG POINT, make sure you dont slouch. because when you do your whole body pushes forward and your tummy looks bigger.

My outfit of choice for the wedding was

THIS!!!! I looked every where and I could not find anything that now fit my needs for my body type, So when all else failed I went to the Chinese mall!!

This place has bargains for days, and the most beautiful Styles you don't always find in the store.

I found these high waisted pants with the most amazing pattern, it was light in texture, smooth and it was only R120.00

I also found this Velvet Ribbed Polo-neck Body suit that really brought this pants to life, I was scared the pattern would throw the outfit off but it Did not. It looked stunning and it was R100.00

I paired it with my pointed block heels i got from Ackermans, and can you believe it was the most expensive piece of my outfit it was R170.00 the point really made the flared pants look so different and made my legs look longer.

And this guys is what it looked like

My makeup of choice was Rose Gold because I had on these gold burgundy earrings I thought I would keep my face simple, elegant and with a pop of shimmer.

It really gave me so much confidence the moment I felt good about my body, I was dressing wrong because In my head I didn't like the way I looked but I didn't realise I just Needed to find my body type and make it work for me. And in tune make my outfit work for me, there's so many other ways to wear these pieces separately with different combinations.

I have worn this body suit with a high waisted light stain denim jeans. With my floral black boots i bought at Mr Price for R299.00 and a black belt with a gold buckle I got at Mr Price as well for R60.00.

I too wore it with a floral skirt I got At Mr price for R 100.00 and the pointed block heel from Ackermans with black stockings.

What I learned in this process is, be true to yourself, be confident and always make sure you are comfortable. Do not dress to fit any one else's opinion of you. You can make it work if you really try.

SO find your body type, find clothes that accentuate the parts of your body you might not like, because you make the outfit the outfit doesn't make you.

Good day my Tulip Readers

So, as you all know my weekends are ragers HAHA wow my jokes suck, anyway. I am not someone who parties very often, I love to go out and do something different, like movies, lunches, adventure outings like Theme parks, go carting, going to the GAMES section of the casinos and be like a kid in a candy store, nothing beats putting that coin in and beating your opponent or even just teasing them a little. Yes, Your girl is very competitive.

But when I just want a day where I’m laying in my sweats and watching some good SERIES, with some salt and vinegar potato chips, chocolate or sour worms and some coldrink.

I am going to list a few of my favourite movies and why, and I will list when is the best time to watch them. LETS GO!

A SERIES I can watch over and over and over again is which means it Numero Uno

1-One Tree Hill

I can’t even tell you the love I have for this series, I feel like I grew with it and it grew with me. But also, now I have grown with the actual actors who’s work I now still enjoy. Let me tell you about my favourite series, this was an emotional roller coaster for me, in the first season I loved, loved Haley James then I moved to love many of the other characters. I feel like Haley was the most relatable to me, she was someone who loved books and music but didn’t make a fuss about being popular she always stayed true to herself, Lucas I feel like there was too much hype around him, NATHAN!!!!! Yes, him I will have any day, he started off as a bad boy but turned out to be such an honest, kind and hardworking character, he made his life and his love worth it because he worked for it. Brooke and Peyton HAHA those two were always thick as thieves but had so many things they went through together and apart. They were indestructible even when they fight they find their way back to one another and they always stand together they really embody a great friendship.

I was sad when characters left and other new story lines and characters filled up the cast, but over the years as it grew, it always grew with its fans, it made us seem like we were a big part of the show. That’s why till now from any 1 of the 9 seasons can pop up and I will watch it full without fail.

I loved how this show embraced the culture and honesty of its time, how it made us see a lot of social issues differently, like young “love”, bullying, school, being a teenager and getting to know yourself. It really was an eyeopener to treat people with so much more kindness, to do everything to the best of your ability, to work hard for your future to have ambition and to grow yourself first before you just follow suit the way everyone else was.

This show is a drama, but it’s got amazing funny moments, a lot of life lessons and it really encouraged my writing dream. #OTHFOREVER

2-CSI- New York, LAS Vegas and Miami

CSI Las Vegas was the first series of CSI I had ever watched. You know that feeling when you watch something and you all of a sudden want to do it as a career that’s how impressed I was, it was one of the most intriguing series to watch, how their team of scientists caught out criminals. Then I started to watch CSI New York ad I fell in love with the accents, the different style they had and the atmosphere of the whole show. It was city life. CSI Miami is just iconic. No one can tilt their glasses like Horacio

3-8 Simple rules

WOW! If you ever want to laugh until your tummy hurts watch this, I loved how this dad loved his daughters and the humour they put into their relationships and lives. Their dad and Main character does pass away in the beginning of season two OH how I cried, it was so sad cause the cast final goodbyes to him was so beautiful. The family do get back to their happy place and his daughters make is so hilarious, Bridget is the blonde that likes boys and anything sparkly and Carey is the know it all. Rory their brother is the tattle tale PLEASE I beg, just watch it!!!

4-The George Lopez Show

If ever you need a fix, here you go, this family friendly comedy series is based on a Mexican family in the burbs, but wow. Its unbelievably funny and their sayings wow, I use them in my own life sometimes, I think this is one of the reasons I Love the Spanish language. All around you will laugh till you are rolling on the floor its so relatable and fun for the whole family. It’s also so effortless it’s like they genuinely enjoyed set life because they made it sooo close to what a real family is. TA LOCA

5-Criminal Minds & Criminal Minds Beyond Boarders

Criminal Minds, I feel like I can watch this series from start to finish, with all the cringing that comes with it. Its so intriguing. It teaches you why criminals do what they do, how they act, how to interpret their behaviour. It makes you so much more self-aware as well to always pay attention to people and what they might be going through and also how they act. To make sure you can protect yourself. Its one of my favourites because you learn a lot about life people and how to treat others and how to help them. They also made two seasons of Criminal Minds beyond boarders, I loved every minute of it. So, upset they cancelled after two seasons.

6-Gossip Girl

If you haven’t watched it yet, are you living under a rock??? Or maybe just not anywhere near the upper east side. HAHA This show is all about the Rich Kids of Manhattan living La vida Loca, until they get pulled into a shift of actually having new people who have less enter and impact their lives. It also gives you a close up of their lives and how they navigate high school, college and eventually their own Successes and money. Its thrilling, makes you feel all boujie like you got to drink champagne when you watch it. I’m telling you if you not about this life, you better get on it. XOXO Gossip Girl

7-The Bold Type

This series is right up my alley, about 3 girls who work for Scarlet Magazine and show how their lives and jobs intertwine and how they make a living. Its amazing what you learn about real life in these series, it made me love publishing magazines, companies that too embrace their online presence and the fashion world. But once a month print an issue where you can smell the talent leap off the pages. Literally my dream JOB! I can’t even put into words what this series has done for me. It really is a great confidence booster for woman.

8-GRIMM

So, if you like creepy, sci fi, special effects vibes? This is the series for you. Its about good and evil but its displayed in a physical form, it’s got so much different kinds of characters and ideas roped into one series but it works so well, yes its very creepy at first, but you get used to it and you learn. Its almost a play on human life, how different we all are and why, its just in this series they are separated by this, by how their communities are so far apart and its takes them working together to save the world. Its LITERALLY A CINEMATIC roller coaster and I would do it all again.

9-Chicago PD, FIRE & MED

This is one of my favourite series, they are so so so so connected. Literally episodes collide with one another. Its a firefighter series, which then turned into a crime drama and then a medical drama and all the versions are connected. They all work together to save lives and people. Its so brilliant please do yourself a favour and watch it.

10-Greys Anatomy

This medical series is the longest running season I have ever watched, its been such an emotional ride, its such an in depth look at the lives of medical staff from the ground up. I cant even tell you how all these changes caused a lot of tears and smiles. I'm all for this life hey, GREY SLOAN MEMORIAL FOREVER.

I usually watch something according to my mood, and these cover every mood I can possibly be in.

WORK BY DAY BLOG BY NIGHT 🌞🌒

Good Day all My beautiful readers.

Its GOOD to be back. 😊

SO for all of my faithful readers you know I haven’t posted in over two months. I MISSED IT, I MISSED YOU. Lets never break up again, HAHA.

I have been going through a lot of changes if you’ve read by previous post of how to deal with or go through change you will see what I mean and personally how I cope.

But the method that works, every time is Planning.

I recently went through a big change at work where I moved from a receptionist position to Admin, it was quick and different. It was a huge adjustment for me. All of a sudden, I was being blessed with a position I had been training in. In a field that has more growth opportunity, but while moving over I did neglect my blog quite a bit because besides my promotion I went through a bunch of personal changes.

Let me tell you its not easy, but also, I realised in this quiet where my priorities are. Where they lie and what I need to do every day to make it work.

I celebrated my 26^th Birthday.

I celebrated my mom and dad’s birthdays, my best friend’s birthday too 💌. Wait and Father’s Day. I ordered new devices that will improve my blog work dramatically. But had to wait over a month because well service providers MXM!!!!

In between all of this my blog turned one and NO I did not celebrate it because for my readers I wanted more, so I am planning a special giveaway. When I have finally changed servers and Moved my blog over I will do my giveaway.

I’ve been writing bible school exams, I joined the young adults meeting at my Church.

I also went through a stage of cutting my hair, I cut it twice. I went through a very big emotional change where I feel like I have never been so close to God and my Family in a long time. If you’ve read a few of my posts you will know that my family and I are very close ad together we go through things. BUT we always make it work and come out stronger.

As well I have decided to move my blog over to a new server where I can have more personal control. Where I can share more, create better and have it been my own. I love blogger but for where I want to take my blog I need to own it.

NOW here comes the big question, I’ve said it quite a bit HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK??

Well since I neglected my blog turns out I am still learning, EISH!!

Its also not that I Didn’t have time, I did. But I was so uninspired and I needed to find myself back at that place where I wanted to write, I wanted to create content, I wanted to be even more passionate than before. I feel like also me being so much busier I kept putting my blog on the back burner whereas I didn’t need to I just needed to keep myself inspired.

I BOUGHT products some I hadn’t even used. I have been creating looks but you know when you just feel like there is not enough time in a day? And you do not want to half do something that is apart of you? Something you’re creating.

So, with my revamp, with my 5 DAYS of 5 POSTS I really had to fall in love with why is started doing this, you get overwhelmed by social media, by how any likes or shares you get, and who comments and who doesn’t comment. It became so exhausting to me so I just decided I’m going to take some time out, regroup, find my peace then I know my heart will go where it needs to.

I genuinely think that the outside world can really take away from your craft if you let it, and I did. So, in my quiet, I took time out to find who I am in this new stage of my life, what I want out of my blog. I caught up with all my favourite bloggers, I read all their posts and I started to feel so good cause I knew that they were facing the same thing as me. They go through these stages and they get up. And it really grabbed me once I did. I know my blog might be small and not reached a place where many think it’s good or successful but one thing I’m sure of is its HONEST.

I went back to my drawing board and I planned how I was going to make over my blog, re create my content, why I do it and to make sure I always do it for the right reasons.

I will continue to support all the bloggers who inspire me and in tune support my work.

I have made schedules and written down ideas I know I have peace about and will accomplish them. It takes a lot of work and time and instead of letting it overwhelm me. I’m now going to use to fuel me. Yes, my job is important, but my passions go beyond that, God created this fire in me and I’m going to see it through. Planning, strategy, timing, who I interact with is all very important. But most important is staying true to myself and my work.

THE ANSWER IS, I was doing it the way that it was convenient for me, and that did not work. Cause with all my previous planning, I still lost the plot and maybe a bit of myself trying to keep up. BUT NOW IM BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER.

IM GOING TO TRY MY BEST TO MAKE IT WORK WAY BETTER THAN I DID BEFORE, BECAUSE ABOVE ALL I LOVE GOD, MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS AND MY BLOG. I love where GOD is taking me in my career.

Working a full-time job, having a home, family and friends that also deserve your time, having church activities and bible school, making sure I pass my exams and keeping up my grades. In turn working on myself and my independence, praying for my life, my future and working on my dreams is a lot for one girl. BUT this girl is ready, always ready. And I am going to prove to myself, everyone I care about, that cares about me and all the bloggers and followers that support me, that it IS WORTH IT.

MY DRUGSTORE HAUL + SHOPPING TIPS 🙋

Good Day My Beautiful Readers

If anything you'll know that I live in Dis-Chem Pharmacy 😭😢

Anyone who knows me knows that when I walk into Dis-Chem Pharmacies I am a woman on a mission. TO SPEND! HAHA

In order to make sure I don’t spend all my money on makeup or skincare I make a list. I write down what I need, from most important to least important.

My list starts from Toiletries to makeup or beauty items.

TOILETRIES

Sanitary items (Kotex)
Body soap/wash (Dove Soap + Rooibos Body Scrub)
Skin care (currently using the Yardley Oatmeal Spot Clear range)
Hair Products (Shampoo, conditioner, treatment, dye etc)
Toothbrush (every 3 months)

Blades for my Razor (every 2-3 months)

When making a list always make sure that you make a budget, cause if you are anything like me you can easily spend R800.00 on one simple drugstore trip, I also buy in bulk, so I buy my soap, spray, roll on, hair products, blades on so on to last me at least 3 months then I also do not end up going all the time or every month because I also love to save and have extra.

LET’S GET INTO THIS DRUGSTORE HAUL.

Let’s start with a product I have already fully reviewed- LA Girl Smoky Eyeshadow Palette

I loved this product because it was in expensive for such a good product, I was no fan of the packaging but I mean for R99.00 Its forgivable, I enjoy creating new and fun looks with this palette and I will repurchase if Necessary.

Essence lipstick in shade 13 MATT MATT MATT

What I loved about this colour and this formula what that is Matt which Explains the name to a T, and the colour pay off was absolutely astonishing. I’m one that loves nude shades, light natural pinks and just clear gloss or lip-ice but since I started using my essence Matte Lip-gloss in 09 American Girl I’m starting to really appreciate the Darker shade range with my skin Tone. It Retails for R59.00

Essence Primer in range Little Beauty Angels colour correcting

When I first saw a primer for this price I jumped for Joy but that’s not the only thing I did, it really had helped my skin look even in colour, and my makeup stayed glowy and on my face for a good period of time. I loved how all my dark marks were blurred but also the consistency is not pasty it’s like a cream but sticks to the skin and creates a lovely barrier between your face and the foundation. I wear it alone as well. It retails for R69.00

L.A GIRL pro coverage foundation In shade Bronze

When I saw it being reviewed on my favourite bloggers YouTube Channels I was like, let me give it a try, It couldn’t hurt right. WRONG! It made me fall in love. I was so amazed by the colour match, it fits my completion perfectly and it’s full coverage and plays so well with any other products added to the face after. It retails for R179.00 and I’m definitely going back for another bottle. It looks sleek and cozy, it’s actually in a plastic bottle which I love because I’m way too clumsy for glass, Its got an Amazing consistency and depending on how you set it, it works hard for you.

BASICS Beauty Silicone Brush Cleaner

So like most of this post I saw it advertised in a Dis-Chem brochure and I saw a few amazing bloggers talking about it, personally I have not used it yet but my brushes are definitely in need of a good clean, I will be doing a full review on it, slowing before and after results and explaining how I used it and what I think. It retails for R50.00

Last and Very Much Least- Essence Eyeliner Pen in Shade Black

So I always talk about Essence and how obsessed I am with the brand and its colours, But SHEESH This eyeliner pen, just made meL. I used it once and even then there was not much colour transfer, anyone who knows me knows I cannot do my eyeliner if my life depended on it, but I decided to practice and boy was I in trouble, the pen dried up in one way and I stored it correctly, I am not sure if it was old or if I got a defect pen but I was severely underwhelmed and will not be repurchasing any eyeliner pens from Essence in the near future. It Retails for R89.00

I call that a successful haul, I got a bunch of products I’d be wanting to get my hands on, and over all I loved 90% of the products. I really love getting items I can add to my collection but also items I’m willing to try. I was so happy that I got these products, I am so looking forward to using them and doing reviews on my favourites and on the Basics Beauty Silicone Brush Cleaner I am so excited for it. Aim of the game is always go prepared your list will keep you on track and remind you of the important things first, I usually feel bad when I buy makeup first so it keeps me sane when I do it the right way from the beginning.
